Faith Manifested Through Making Choices

(Gen 13:1-4) Then Abram went up from Egypt, he and his wife and all that he had, and Lot with him, to the South.[a] 2 Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold. 3 And he went on his journey from the South as far as Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai, 4 to the place of the altar which he had made there at first. And there Abram called on the name of the Lord.->神在帶領人的時候,有祂自己的作法,雖然亞伯蘭從埃及到南地都沒有呼求神,失落了信心,但是神沒有責備他,而透過法老來告訴亞伯蘭他哪裡做錯了.我們在遭遇困難的時候會因此而離開神去尋求世界的幫助嗎? 亞伯蘭在埃及的靈性上的失落重於物質上的滿足:恢復信心的第一步:離開罪惡之地(埃及)

當物質充足的時候,考驗的事對財務的運用,有時候貧窮時會依靠神,但富足時卻會因為依靠財物而在靈性上跌倒
(1 timothy 6:17)Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.
-但是亞伯蘭在物質豐富中的信心考驗卻得勝了,因為他把帳篷慢慢移向伯特利(神的家),也築壇獻祭(透過禱告)再一次堅固他和神之間的關係.
(Gen 13:5-6)Lot also, who went with Abram, had flocks and herds and tents. 6 Now the land was not able to support them, that they might dwell together, for their possessions were so great that they could not dwell together.
-富裕常常會使朋友和親戚與自己疏遠,錢財會把自己的心胸占滿,當心胸容不下其他東西的時候,親情和友情就會被犧牲掉了.在教會裡也最好不要有財務或工作上的交流.
(Gen 13:7-9)And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram’s livestock and the herdsmen of Lot’s livestock. The Canaanites and the Perizzites then dwelt in the land. So Abram said to Lot, “Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are brethren. Is not the whole land before you? Please separate from me. If you take the left, then I will go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I will go to the left.”
-常常跟家人吵得很兇,但卻對外人(迦南人)相敬如賓. 牧人代表教會的聖工人員,教會裡最忌諱的是內部的紛爭,是出於肉體的情慾,以自我為中心,不管神與教會,這樣做出的決定一定是魔鬼最喜歡的,我們都互為肢體,為了互相照顧,若能將心比心,就沒有甚麼好爭的,也沒有甚麼事不能解決.

-(Eph 4:1-3)I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
為了靈裡的合一,我們要以謙虛和溫柔忍讓的心與人相處

-亞伯蘭在面對這個選擇的時候,他放棄長輩應有的優先權,為了維持和平
(Gen 13:10-13) And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere (before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt as you go toward Zoar. 11 Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other. 12 Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelt in the cities of the plain and pitched his tent even as far as Sodom.13 But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the Lord.
-順著情慾撒種的，必從情慾收敗壞；順著聖靈撒種的，必從聖靈收永生。
-羅得的三個錯誤: 舉目看, 沒有讓長輩先選擇, 慢慢搬向所多瑪
