Genesis 8:7
Then he sent out a raven, which kept going to and fro until the waters had dried up from the earth.
放 出 一 隻 烏 鴉 去 ； 那 烏 鴉 飛 來 飛 去 ， 直 到 地 上 的 水 都 乾 了 。

→烏鴉是鳥類中智商最高的動物，因此挪亞選牠當偵查的先鋒，但牠卻沒有完成任務；我們被神揀選也是相同的目的，若有恩賜就應該盡到服侍的義務，可惜很多人就像烏鴉漫無目的的飛翔，無法服侍神。烏鴉代表屬肉體的世人。

他 又 放 出 一 隻 鴿 子 去 ， 要 看 看 水 從 地 上 退 了 沒 有 。

→鴿子的特性很馴良溫柔，又愛乾淨，代表屬神的子民，心中聖潔溫柔。鴿子認得牠們的主人，像屬神的人，認識神是我們的主人，並聽從主人的命令。
1 Peter 1:15

但 遍 地 上 都 是 水 ， 鴿 子 找 不 著 落 腳 之 地 ， 就 回 到 方 舟 挪 亞 那 裡 ， 挪 亞 伸 手 把 鴿 子 接 進 方 舟 來 。

到 了 晚 上 ， 鴿 子 回 到 他 那 裡 ， 嘴 裡 叼 著 一 個 新 擰 下 來 的 橄 欖 葉 子 ， 挪 亞 就 知 道 地 上 的 水 退 了 。
→傳和平的福音，懂得回到教會來。
